Tottenham: PSG consider Aurier return - Roma loanee Florenzi likely to leave

With a total value of €828.95 million, Paris Saint-Germain have the fourth most valuable squad in the world. Nevertheless, the French serial champions see a need for improvement in the right-back position. In Alessandro Florenzi and Colin Dagba, PSG nominally have two players for the role, but according to RMC Sport, those responsible are not satisfied with Florenzi in particular.

The Italian was brought in from AS Roma before the season for a loan fee of €1 million, played 33 games since then, but rarely convinced. According to the report, it is therefore unlikely that PSG will trigger the option to buy, which amounts to €8 million. However, the capital club has not yet made a final decision on Florenzi’s future.

Instead of Florenzi, another candidate now moves into focus: Serge Aurier of Tottenham could stabilise the defence. The 28-year-old Ivorian, who has made 109 appearances for Spurs since 2017, is still tied to the Londoners until 2022. For a reported transfer fee of €10 million, he is understood to be available in the summer, however. Le Parisien recently reported on the interest as well. At PSG, Aurier would meet his former manager, Mauricio Pochettino. A factor that could play a role in a possible transfer. In addition, Aurier is said to be not averse to the prospect of a return to Paris, for whom he played between 2014 and 2017.

However, PSG are not the only club interested in Aurier. Last year, the international was linked with AC Milan, Spartak Moscow and Bayer Leverkusen, but decided to stay. If Tottenham miss out on Champions League qualification, as they did last year, Aurier could push for a move. In addition to Milan, who are still showing interest, Atlético are also said to be in the race for the right-back.
