Aurier joins Nottingham Forest - Becomes 22nd signing this summer
Nottingham Forest have added yet another player. On Wednesday, the promoted Premier League side announced the acquisition of free agent Serge Aurier subject to visa approval. Aurier became a free agent after his contract at Villarreal expired at the end of the 2021/22 season.
The club changed its Twitter handle to "fancy another one" just before announcing the signing of the 29-year-old right-back. The Ivorian becomes the club's 22nd signing of the summer—a record for any club based in the United Kingdom during a single transfer window.
Forest have been writing headlines all summer. The promoted Premier League side has not only signed 22 new players but were also among the biggest spenders of the summer transfer window. Forest have spent €161.95 million this window on new players. Only four clubs have spent more money this summer.
Aurier to Forest - Second stint in England
This will be Aurier's second stint in England. The 29-year-old joined Tottenham in 2017 and played 110 games for Spurs across all competitions, and was part of the team that reached the Champions League final in 2019.
