The Champions League has reached the semi-final stage with four European giants aiming to lift the most prestigious trophy in club football. Real Madrid (17) and Bayern Munich (13) have reached more semi-finals than any other clubs in Champions League history and the duo played out a thrilling 2-2 draw in the first leg of their last four clash in Munich on Tuesday night.



Vinicius Jr gave Madrid the lead against the run of play in the first half before goals from Leroy Sané and Harry Kane put Bayern ahead after the break. Since the European Cup was renamed the Champions League in 1992, 23 clubs have won the competition from seven different nations - France, Germany, Italy, England, SpainPortugal and the Netherlands. Spain has produced the most players with Champions League winners medals with 101 Spaniards lifting the biggest club trophy. Real Madrid have won the Champions League eight times while arch rivals Barcelona have four titles to their name. Dani Carvajal’s five Champions League titles is a record for a Spaniard, while Sergio Ramos, Andrés IniestaXavi and Gerard Piqué and Isco have won four titles.


 


Germany has produced 67 Champions League winners with Bayern Munich winning it three times and Dortmund once. Italy and England are tied in fourth place with 60 Champions League winners but Harry Kane and Jude Bellingham will be aiming to add to that number this season for England. Brazil is the only non-European nation in the top five with 51 players, while fellow South American nation Argentina are in ninth place with 18 winners, including Lionel Messi.
